The Invest to Save Budget (ISB) is a joint Treasury/Cabinet Office initiative with an aim to create sustainable improvements in the capacity to deliver public services in a more joined up manner. A key principle of the ISB programme is that investment is provided in return for reform.

Point of Interest 15/12/06 ISB Project Administration has a new look Guidance will be published shortly however the new system is user friendly and a more rounded project management tool

Point of Interest 20/10/06 Further Rounds - it is not known at this stage whether there will be further rounds of ISB funding. Any decision is unlikely to be made before Autumn 2007

Point of Interest 19/10/06 ISB Round 9 - There have been a number of queries regarding the amount a bid can be for. The maximum amount of funding available from ISB for any project is £800k but projects can be for greater amounts as long as this is made up from their match funding

Point of Interest 09/10/06 ISB Project Administration

There are problems with the ISB reporting system affecting all inputs including milestones, reports, passwords etc.this is in the process of being corrected and it is hoped that the system will be up and running by 30 October 2006 when the next reports are due.

A further notice will be published once the database is back in working order

Point of Interest 07/08/06 The ninth annual resource allocation round of the Invest to Save - Inclusive Communities Budget (ISB) was launched today, with a focus on forging stronger partnerships between local authorities and the third sector in the development of innovative approaches to service delivery. Please view the press notice for further information. The deadline for submitting bids for Round 9 is 27 October 2006. The full criteria and bidding guidance for ISB Round 9 gives you all the information you need to submit a bid, and includes the bid proforma. We have also produced a bid checklist which we suggest you use to ensure that your bid contains all the required information. A list of Frequently Asked Questions is also available. Point of Interest 27/06/06 Invest to Save Budget Third Sector Projects Publication was launched at the ISB Conference on the 15 June The document is designed to showcase the diverse contribution the third sector can make to service delivery and demonstrate the nature of the partnerships the ISB has helped to foster. We hope that this publication will prove to be a useful tool in the promotion of cross-sector working by showing what can be done, as well as encouraging the development of further effective partnerships in the future.

Title - Conferences


Point of Interest An Invest to Save Budget (ISB) Conference took place at the Treasury in London on 15 June 2006 with an address from Stephen Timms the Chief Secretary to the Treasury. The event focussed on projects and partnerships involving the third sector and the aim was to get feedback on the contribution the ISB has made to understanding the role of the sector in the delivery of public services within local communities. This was an interesting and diverse conference, which offered the chance for people to meet who are involved in innovation right across public and third sector organisations, and learn lessons from the projects being presented.
