Downloading Software

Some of pages within the ISB web site are offered in other formats other than HTML.

PDF (portable document format - .pdf file extension) files.

To read these files type Users will require the Adobe Acrobat Reader software, which can be downloaded free of charge from Adobe by clicking here if not already installed. The download is 5.6Mb in size which will take approximately 26 minutes with a 28.8k modem.

Word (MS Word) is used when forms can be completed electronically or when the use of PDF format would substantially increase the document file size.

Navigation

Every page contains links to the Home page, Site Help (this page) and Contact ISB page, along with the main sections: About ISB, Bidders, ISB Project Administration, Lesson Learners and Press Office.

Clicking on the the ISB logo in the top left corner of every page will take the User back to the Home page.

Both Text and Graphic links are included in this site. The Graphic Links include a description box informing the user where the link will go. This can be viewed by placing the pointer over the link. All Links to pages within the site open in the same browser window. External Links, PDF and Word documents open in a new browser window to allow continued navigation of this web site.

This red icon is used to indicate a point of interest on the current page or a link to another page on this web site or a third party web site.

Printing

Any page can be printed from this web site by the user selecting "File", then "Print" from the menu options within Microsoft IE or Netscape. Because this site does not use Frames, the printed pages will appear as they do on screen.

Depending on the settings of the printer, page orientation - landscape / portrait - may need to be adjusted.

1. Website site usage information
This website does not store or capture personal information, but merely logs the users Internet Protocol (IP) address*. Our log files for the site do not contain any personal information or information about other sites you have visited.

We do not use Cookies* for collecting user information from the site and we will not collect any other information from you, except that required for system administration of our web server.

Other web sites linked from this site do not necessarily follow the same policies. Further information on your rights under the Data Protection Act 1998 can be found on the Information Commissioner's Website.

2. Contacting the Treasury
If you send an e-mail or message to the Treasury, you may initially receive an automated response advising you how to find the information that you are seeking. If that response is not helpful then we will answer your email personally. In doing so we may need to contact other Government Departments to find answers to your questions. In such cases we will only pass on personal data if it is necessary to do so, and we will not keep your personal data or records of our correspondence longer than necessary.

3. Registration information

Saving Pages

Any page displayed on your browser can be saved to your local drive. Select "File", then "Save As" from the menu options within Microsoft IE and Netscape. This will include any images present on the selected page.

Search

The Search functionality on the Home page allows Users to find documents and pages on the ISB web site only.

Users enter the word or phrase (search criteria) they are searching for in the text field and click on the 'Go' to begin the search. Results are displayed on the Search Results page.

Advanced Options
Several advanced Search options allow Users to make the Search more specific and control how the Search Results are displayed. The Advanced Options are accessed by clicking on the 'Advanced Search Options' link below the search text field.

Website - web pages or documents on the ISB web site
Projects - projects stored in the database
Documents - all documents on the ISB web site

Search Type
All words - all words in the search criteria
Any words - any of the words in the search criteria
Exact Phrase - exact phrase of the search criteria
Boolean - specific words in the search criteria (use plus (+) to include words and minus (-) to exclude words). For example "invest+save+budget-ISB" would return all documents that contain 'invest', 'save' and 'budget' and do not contain 'ISB'.

Sort By
Hits - results sorted by the number of times the criteria appears on each page or document
Name - results sorted alphabetically
Size - results sorted by file size largest to smallest

Results
25 - 25 results per page
50 - 50 results per page
100 - 100 results per page

All search results open in a new browser window.

Site Specification

This ISB web site has been designed for use by a broad range of Users. The site will work best with a minimum monitor resolution of 800 x 600 pixels (SVGA) using 256 colours, although it will still function adequately in lower settings.
